Mission 911 exists to stabilize and restore individuals in crisis through wraparound services that address immediate needs and lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency. We serve as a crucial safety net — intervening before families fall into homelessness while also supporting those who are already unhoused
Comprehensive Case Management (CCM)
In 2024, we served 119 households with case management services and provided over $11,000 in assistance to case management guests to help them work towards long-term stability
A long-term, relationship-based model that helps individuals and families navigate emergency financial needs, mental health support, employment, education, housing, transportation, and long-term goal planning. Our CCM team partners with more than 30 agencies to build individualized plans that support long-term stability.
What this looks like for a guest:
Full assessment to understand their situation, strengths, needs, and barriers.
Goal plan created with their case manager, breaking challenges into clear, manageable steps.
Referrals to trusted partner agencies for counseling, health care, job training, legal help, and financial coaching.
Education support, including GED preparation and referrals for high school equivalency programs.
Ongoing connection to the same case manager, sometimes for up to two years, providing steady support as life changes.
Removal of practical barriers: counseling stipends, medication assistance, transportation, childcare support, and work fees
Emergency Financial
Assistance
Our Emergency Financial Assistance Program provides short-term utility and rental/mortgage assistance for individuals and families at risk of losing their housing. These programs are often the difference between staying housed and falling into crisis. Even one overdue rent payment or a disconnected utility bill can quickly lead to eviction, and for families in government-supported housing, a utility shutoff alone can result in losing their home entirely.
By stepping in early, we prevent families from entering homelessness and give them the stability they need to get through unexpected hardships. This support creates space for people to breathe, regroup, and keep their lives from unraveling during a tough moment
Utility Assistance
These programs also serve as a key entry point into our long-term case management services; a onetime crisis becomes the start of building lasting stability.
Utility assistance is one of our most critical services. Mission 911 currently provides utility assistance across 10 energy providers and has a partnership with the City of Corpus Christi to pay Corpus Christi water bills. Both partnerships ensure that the customers of nearly every major utility company serving our region have a pathway to relief.
Our longest-standing utility partnership is with TXU Energy, whose Energy Aid program provides a powerful 4-to-1 match on every dollar raised for utility assistance to TXU Energy customers. This means that every dollar donated or granted toward TXU customers becomes five dollars of relief at the point of need dramatically amplifying our impact and the community’s investment in keeping families housed and powered.
In 2025, Mission 911 entered a significant new partnership with NRG Energy, becoming the sole utility assistance provider for NRG’s family of seven energy companies in our service area. This includes Reliant Energy, NRG’s largest brand, along with six additional NRG companies. This designation reflects the trust NRG has placed in Mission 911’s ability to deliver efficient, compassionate, and accountable assistance to customers facing hardship, and it meaningfully expands the number of families we are equipped to help.
Seasonal Outreach & Family Support
We offer year-round programs that bring stability, connection, and encouragement to families across the Coastal Bend, including Thanksgiving meals, Christmas assistance, and back-to-school support. These outreach efforts strengthen community ties and create welcoming spaces where families can access both practical help and ongoing support.
